A Word From Dr. Butler-Rice: I was born in Washington, DC and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. I have been married for over seventeen years to my college sweetheart, Kenneth Rice. We have three beautiful children (Jennifer, Dora, and Kenneth Daniel) who keep me very busy when I am not in the office. I am the daughter of US Army Colonels Bobby & Geraldine Moore (Stone Mtn, GA) and daughter-in-law of Ms Margaret Fuller (Asheville, NC). My medical training and residency were done at Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory University, respectively.
My decision to become a bilingual (English/Spanish) pediatrician is rooted in the traditional values which I cherish most: home, family, community, and Christian spirituality. My interests lie in the health care of the whole person, family, community, preventive medicine, and adolescent health issues. Personally, I desire to provide compassionate, faith-based, and technically excellent medical care to patients from all walks of life. Maya Angelou has stated that “women should be tough, tender and laugh as much as possible. The woman who is armed with wit and courage will be among the first to celebrate victory.” My hobbies include speaking Spanish, music, traveling, outdoor sports, and martial arts.
